Stefania Maci is Full Professor of English Language and pro Vice Chancellor for Education and Student Affairs at the University of Bergamo. She is a member of CERLIS (Research Centre on Specialized Languages), BAAL (British Association of Applied Linguistics), and AIA (Associazione Italiana di Anglistica). In recent years she has acted as an external referee for a number of peer-reviewed journals (Communication and Medicine; ESP Today; Lingue Culture Mediazioni – Languages Cultures Mediation (LCM Journal); Lingua e Linguaggi; Text & Talk), and is a member of the scientific board of several international conferences both in Italy and abroad. Her research centres on the study of the English language in academic and professional contexts, especially in relation to the analysis of tourism and medical discourses.
